Parents lobby to save day care for handicapped kids

BATON ROUGE — Sayla Cain is an 8-year-old with cerebral palsy. She cannot feed herself, wears diapers and requires near-constant care.

Under the best-case scenario plan for proposed spending cuts to the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals, outlined Tuesday by Undersecretary Jeff Reynolds, children like Sayla would have nowhere to turn.
